Mountain safety in Cape Town
Table Mountain National Park sees millions of visitors a year, and most incidents involve people who set off underprepared, on the wrong route or too late in the day. Weather can change within minutes: the famous tablecloth cloud brings cold, wind and near-zero visibility to the summit while the city below stays sunny.
Our guides plan conservatively, set realistic turnaround times and choose routes that match the group and the forecast. We carry communication devices and know how to reach Wilderness Search and Rescue quickly should it ever be needed.
